Was this figure scrapped? I was talking to a friend Queen and remembered there were plans for a figure of Mercury.

Scrapped. McFarlane had second thoughts on how well it would sell. I have no idea if it made it to the prototype stage.

And it would have sold just as well as Jerry, Janis, and Jim. It didn't stop them.

I'm surprised to be honest. When I was in school and for long after... Queen and Aerosmith were the two biggest bands of the day. Mercury, like Tyler / Perry, Bowie and other folks was a visually interesting character, and often considered one of rocks greatest vocalists.
God knows they had enough hits.
Seems that with the sales of Hendrix, Angus Young, and Metallica, he would do OK..
